While I agree, he has a bad tendency to break down. Tek didn't used to do that. McCann worth a look?

    Error was given to Salty

JBay the steal was on Breslow but Saltamachia is not great defensively and he had to get that ball that Gomes threw home.

Agreed. You give up the run at the plate to cut down the guy going to third or hold him at second.

It will be a bad loss if Sox don't come back but they will be in the same position as they were going to Detroit.  I will go to game three in St. louis and get a win for all of you. You're welcome.

The sox don't sweep, they win series.  They will win it in six so the cards have to win a couple.

Bring your son and make him wear a sox hat Wink

This went from good to bad very fast. Farrell left lackey in one batter too many and put more pressure on breslow than he needed to have. Of course, the bad news bears suddenly reared their ugly head briefly and here we are.

Here we go. Remake of bullpen. Unknown, Sox used vets. Cards use rookie fireballers. Yup.

Re: World Series Game 2 Thread: Cardinals at Red Sox

Ross is way superior to Salty. Salty is not hitting either. He couldn't get the ball to third on the double steal, then tries to make some crazy play at the plate. Loose the anchor and get the ball. Pitchers can't seem to throw to any base unless it is home plate. Breslow didn't help by nibbling to DeScalso and walking the first batter just like in Tampa. Lackey must be out of his mind. A Ross /McCann tandem would be nice next year. They have enough cash for it.

I would even think about the older pyrzinski now that he's a f.a.

You are correct. Saltalamachia is not good defensively and it rears its ugly head at times and it showed in the 7th inning.

Farrell didn't make it easier. Your starter is tiring top of 7th,  walks the first batter...pull him.
