Farrell was not that stupid, but stupid enough not to take Lackey out when he walked that hitter who could not hit. Lackey decides to power nibble and walks a guy I could strike out. Bad managing,

That ball was hit just slow enough to get the run.

For sure, but where was Gomes on that double, turned into a triple.  Vic came all the way over from right field to back up Ells, but the ball bounced/rolled toward left field. Gomes must have been picking his nose while watching Ells and Vic trying to chase down the ball.  One might think that on that play BOTH Vic AND GOMES would have been backing up Ells.  Wonder what Gomes was doing?

Pavey REALLY needs to step up in game 3. We need the bulldog back on the mound.

Sitting here I told my wife that Saltalamachia would strike out on three pitches and he does. He has holes in that swing that I would not believe.

    He is just bad

    hes just very streaky

Varitek he is not and his lulls with his bat kill this team at times, like tonight.

I'd be very happy to just have Ross catch the rest of the series. He's not gonna set the world on fire with his bat, but at least the SOX will have a superior defensive catcher behind the plate. I think it's a no brainer, but Farrell will probably feel differently.

I agree. besides the big hit vs Detroit suckalamacchia hasnt done a thing

The "Johnny Gomes streak"has come to an end.  Back to reality!

Yeah really. Farrell playing more hunches than Joe Morgan. Go with the 300 hitter already.

Gomes, Victorino, Drew, Saltamachia not helping this team in this series with their bats. Baeggarts is struggling too. That is why you got only a handfull of hits tonight.

This proves my St Louis belief. XB played one full season of minor ball before is year. He rose fast this year and this is what you get. Some struggles, which is what you expect to occur. Not these rookies, everyone of them with perfect control at 97+. For several months now. No struggles here. I'd have every one of those rookies pee tested and blood tested ASAP.

Ells is responsible for that run as far as I am concerned . You played CF for years and you let that get past you? Also where is Gomes backing him up?

The SOX are 7-0 when Gomes starts. That's all i need to know.

Nothing like having Gomes, Farrell's cheerleader, responsible for the Sox being 7 & 0 when Gomes starts.

That is why they needed tonights game because I do not know what you get from Peavy and Bucholtz.

It would be great to have a real catcher next game. Can't frame a pitch if his life depended on it. Can't throw out a guy on third. Nuff said.

true but I think the sox can put up some runs against St. Louis 3&4 pitchers

I still say doubront should start. This team is not very good against lefties.  I'm sure we'd get 5 strong out of him at least.

Can't throw anybody out. He's like Tim Wakefield behind the plate.
