Did you see the Ortiz huddle?   Unreal.  Unreal.  I have never seen that in baseball before.

    It was effective too.

I am surprised, since I would think professionals always play at peak levels, and didn't need extra motivation to kick up to the next gear.

Whatever works, will take it.  Papi is the leader of this team, having won it all in 04 and 07, and has led by example.  I think he has not been out in this game so far, 3-3 ?  may be 2-2 + BB.

Kind of reminds me of brady yelling at the pats on the sideline.  Brady is a bit more agressive but the reason is the same, fire the team up!

If the sox win tonight, both the wins will be with Ross behind the plate. Wake up Farrell.

Ross isn't helping out there. He is just there while they are winning

Now to burn up those BP arms for the Cards, so they are less effective tomorrow.

We have had a team effort all year. All 25 guys. You don't know who will come through at any given time. Yesterday's goat can be today's hero. Keep the faith until the last out. Don't overreact on every little thing.

Maybe Papi should be a motivational speaker.

    felix is sharp

I felt good last night when he came in.  I thought we'd get 6 IP (less obviously if we were winning).  It annoyed me when he was pulled, but I guess Farrell knew he was only getting 4 IPs from Buchholz tonight.

Just one more reason why it is so difficult to comment on the managing.  Without being in the dugout, there is no way to figure out the motivations behind the moves.

Right, farrell has admitted he has made some mistakes, but I think all managers do that.

9 outs away from homefield advantage. This is a huge game right here.

True, but the win today was fun to watch.  You know the pats, they will keep improving under bill.

Yep.  For first time since game one some breathing room.

No more funny errors and unusual calls to lose the game.  Just focus on executing pitches, and tight error-free defense.

Lack might be available for an inning- same as an off-day side session. Probably not now.

Yes they said if they didnt need him, he would just throw his normal side session after the game
