Is the "Jake would look good in an Indian uniform" a cliche?

    ...or "average mean"...

I wonder why that term never caught on or became a "cliche:...

Is "clinging to their Bibles and Guns" a cliche.

Or, how 'bout " They put you in chains"

Or "CERA", I wonder why that hasn't caught on.

Dim wit, "median average" is my own formula to evaluate numbers over more than one season. It showed me why Tim Wakefield was kicked out of MLB, against his will.

Ellsbury would also look good in a Braves hat, who I'm sure he would be as proud as Joe Biden is of being as good as anyone who isn't paying their fair share.

"White men can't jump" has long been a favorite cliche in the PC sports media.

"Bum" is one of the best baseball cliches, along with "beer gut".

You call your formula "median average".  Aww.  That's adorable.

    Re: Worst Baseball Cliches!

Contrary to what you'd like to think, baseball ain't all that complicated and it's played mostly by people who didn't spend a lot of time worrying about school. It's covered by people who chose a career following these dimwits around and asking them questions (while they're in their underwear) instead of, say, something that actually matters.

So of course it's full of cliches. It's a simple game covered by uncreative people. Enjoy it for what it is ("pastime"= "a way to pass time") and don't expect anything more.

No, it's not an oxymoron. It's a series of medians.

Now, your anger is really sad. You've been angry since Tim Wastefield didn't get that million offer you wanted made to him. Instead, Wakefield was a bum who didn't have a market.

So...your "formula" is you averaging out medians?  Wow.  How advanced.  Can you give us an example of what that looks like?  I am sure it is amazing.

The whole idea is preposterous. He was called out on it when he first coined the phrase and never could explain what it meant, or even tried, because it is silly.

Don't confuse my laughter at your silliness with angry snorts.
