    I'm guessing this was a 1st

bases loaded GB to the 1B

who tag the runner going to 2nd

blue jay mgr asked for a review where his runner was called safe

he won the appeal ruling the 1B did tag his runner

which eliminated the force play at home making that runner safe

bad deal 4 oak because the catcher had plenty of time to tag the runner

but didn't because he thought it was a force

they protested the game and TG won anyways

I'm wondering if this shouldn't work more like the NFL where they won't reverse certain calls because they cannot account for what might have happened after the whistle.  Or maybe like when they the runners back on runner-interference, assuming the baserunners would not otherwise have moved up.

while I think your 1st scenario might be best JB

they  could of / should or gone with the 2nd

there was no question the catcher had plenty of time to tag him

In retrospect, I agree.  While the catcher could argue he had plenty of time to tag, if the ump got the call right initially, the runner can claim he had plenty of time to go back to 3rd had the ump got the call right initially.

I like what I do, and I think I'm pretty good at it, but that would be a real labor of love.  You can try any gimmicks you want.  You can do stuff even if you don't make any real money at it.  Host an oldies concert.  Host a HS soccer championship.  Go around to sell boxes to local businesses.  Host an inner city BB clinic with the coaches and players.  Tell the wife at noon that you're going to work.

I now think someone should INTENTIONALLY build a park in a river somewhere.

That's my favorite ballpark of all time ... I have fond memories of going there with my Little League teammates as spectators in the 1960s, an Edgar Winter concert (!) there in 1972 and takng my family there twice since the extensive renovations about 10 years ago.

A USA Today reader poll last year named Modern Woodmen Park the best minor league ballpark:

    http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-minor-league-ballpark/" rel="nofollow">http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-minor-league-ballpark/" rel="nofollow">http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-minor-league-ballpark/

The renovations included an outfield berm that doubles as a levee to keep out the Mississippi River. The six-game homestand that opens today will be played as scheduled:

    http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140703&content_id=82913850&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_t565&sid=t565" rel="nofollow">http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140703&content_id=82913850&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_t565&sid=t565" rel="nofollow">http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140703&content_id=82913850&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_t565&sid=t565

I wanted to be there last September when the Quad Cities River Bandits clinched the Midwest League crown, but that evening I was at my 40-year high school reunion 25 miles away. A week later I ran past the ballpark and over the adjacent Centennial Bridge in completing the Quad Cities Marathon.

The ballpark has a small cornfield down the leftfield line. During pregame introductions, the River Bandits emerge from the cornfield, ala Field of Dreams. Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa.

    Re: Wow on this !!!!

I WOULD SAY THIS about Global Warming... we need to stop talking about ice caps melting an inch every 50 years or sea levels rising a meter or two over 200 years.... not many get antsy about that.

What we need to talk about, and talk about, and expound to the people is pollution. Rivers are dirty, garbage is floating in the ocean, we burry nuclear waste in the ground..... etc.  This stuff is now right in many of our faces or near by.... it is much easier to convince a person the world is being destroyed by these things, the same things that ultimately lead to global warming. If you cleaned up and stopped pollution global warning would be halted or impeded.

Now back to Iowa and for all those people who cry when their homes are destroyed....... stop building homes in Flood Plains !!!!!! Stop building homes right up to the waters edge of the oceans and rivers!!! You sort of deserve what you get.
