Cubbies are paying most of the salary..... also I see a lot of Cub fans are sad to see him go.

I'm not sure how everyone else missed out this detail. It's the only reason the Yankees got him.

the Sox hem and haw about trades because they cant part with any prospect and always consider the price too steep - the Yanks just do it and always seem to get good players for very little....trying to spin this as a bad move by the Yanks is just sour grapes...

    As always - 100% correct!

Trade is official. NYY trade High A pitcher Corey Black to the Cubs.

NYY only have to pay about 7M of Sorianos remaining 24M on his deal, so financially this was a great move by the Yanks.

Black might be a Diamond in the rough guy, you take a gamble on. Sox Drafted Ty Buttrey in same round ( couple of picks earlier). Black has progressed better as far as advancement.

Soriano still has another year... this is a bad move. Clearly New York cannot simply admit defeat and they want to bring in yet another aging lead footed lame duck player.

    I love it.

So you love that the NYY improved themselves via addressing their biggest need, where the bulk of his salary is paid for; that makes alot of sense; then again, sense is not one of your strong suits.

It's only "sour grapes" if the Sox are blocked from getting him if they needed/wanted him. ASFAIK, they didn't.

And unless Jobu has suddenly helped Alfonso hit a curve, I'm all for it.
