Toronto scores 16 runs, 8 in the first inning alone, all without hitting a homerun. I wonder what the record is for most runs scored without a homer? -

Colon contributed to his demise by being too fat to cover first base. It also took forever for him to get to a slow roller near the mound. He once stated he never even liked baseball and wanted to play soccer. I guess his uncles pointed out he was 200 lbs. overweight and suggeted he turn to baseball because so many Dominicans were making big bucks in MLB. -

yankee schadenfreude threads are almost the very definition of red sox threads --
why? because if the red sox don't make the playoffs it's a disappointing season, if the red sox make the playoffs but don't reach the world series it's disappointing too, if they make the series and lose that's a shame, if they win the series, well, that's the bomb, nothing is better; on the other hand, if the yankees don't make the playoffs it's already a successful season to some extent no matter what the sox do, if the sox do or don't make the playoffs but the yankees don't win it all, even that's still a successful season, not as successful as winning it all mind you, but almost successful nevertheless. -

Just before the break I think both of the Yankees wins over Tampa were only by a run each. I would have loved to see Tampa have swept them, then NY would already be 3.5 out. Go Toronto! -
