When will the Red Sox get their first baserunner against the Yankee bullpen (which last night set down nine straight Sox batters, five on strikeouts)?

And the best arm et all currently in the Yankee pen is Dellin Betances.

Every Yankee fan I know questioned why last night Joe went to Phelps rather than Betances.

Faced 4 batters in this series 3 of those were Ks the 4th was Bogaerts who had 2 strikes on him when Carp cut Bogaerts at bat short by ending that inning getting thrown out at second.

As long as Sox fans have waited for Bogaerts we have waited for Betances.

I think in the days ahead Girardi as he did with Robertson early on will gain more trust in Betances.

They have guys in that pen who are not major league pitchers and when they finally face a tough line up they are going to get crushed.

Do you mean a tougher lineup than the current RS team? So far, the "replacements" appear to have handled the World Champions quite well. Unfortunately.

Is that so? Toronto and Baltimore have decent line ups, actually the best pen pitcher the Yankees have right now is Betances.

What typically wears out any pen is not getting innings from your starters, that has not been the case so far in fact the Yankees rotation has a chance to be pretty good.

More and more CC is looking like the #5.

The Yankees have a few live arms at AAA and why they didn't spend on the pen.

Although I would have preferred another established arm going into the season.

Tommy Kahnle who was amongst a few young lively arms that the Yankees have but he was lost as a rule 5 draft pick and is pitching out of the pen for the Rockies and hasn't done bad so far.

I think the "Yankees have nothing on the farm" is over played and over hyped on this site and I think in the days and the season ahead my point will be validated.

Yankees went cheap on bullpen? Perhaps, but it's working. Yankees will be a major factor in AL East.
