without reading your posted article.  when your big boppers hit .100 = slump = choke (for lack of a better word) = golf

Let's just use the correct word "S*cked". They didn't choke - they scored in o nly 3 innings. Now I might say that 2012 was the first year where NY was basically billed as Cano's team so I might apply the choke term to his performance.

Go compare the post season (vs. Regular season) stats of Arod, Cano, Granderson, Swisher, Gardner.

    Here are their postseason at-bats as Yanks, followed by their career on-base plus slugging percentages and Yanks-playoff on-base plus slugging percentages: Teixeira: 138, .896/.619; Cano: 267, .854/.686; A-Rod: 231, .945/779; Swisher: 130, .837/.561; Gardner: 65, .723/.488.

They are chokers, and old ones to be exact.

unless of course U compare their stats to the

sox in the PO the last few yrs

cause if you did then you would really know what zero offense in the PO is

    did the sox  choke ?

would have to go back 4 years to the sox even being in the playoffs and that series they were atrocious.  they had some good swings in the previous years.  2009 the memory isnt the offense choking, it is papelbon gacking it up.

I said this before the series, the Tigers were definately a better team and still feel the Giants can beat the Cards.

Well, you're about 50% right.  Detroit was better.  But the season ending slump of your offense - which had been bombing everything most of the season - could certainly be called choking.  It was an issue that was larger than just the Tigers.

anybody who calls the 2012 yanks chokers

certainly wasn't paying attention the last month of the season

then again if U R a sox fan that's perfectly understandable

as far as their post season hitting goes there was none

one could they they had zero offense in the PO

I keep forgetting, we're not allowed to use bad words like "choke", when discussing the Yankees.

The Yankees had a wonderful season and simply fell a little short in reaching thier ultimate goal.

They provided baseball fans with an exciting ALCS, in spite of some offensive difficulties.

    Feel better?

Yanks choked when confronted by a better team.

Just a play on words. Lets just say they didnt perform when they had to. Detroit was the better team IMO.

Can't say the Yanks choked. It was a simple case of going up against a Tiger's pitching staff that was on fire. All but their closer that is and he never got a second chance.

With the exception of CC's performance in game 4 the Yanks threw the ball well enough to win the first 3 games of that series.

LOL, perhaps, but the RS wouldn't be familiar with such a broom lately; the only broom they've seen for a while is leaning in the corner of the cellar.

The Yankees did not choke.  Only A-Rod, Swisher, Granderson and Cano chocked.  The rest did pretty well.

Of course the Yankees didn't choke.  Choking implies they had a chance...

Jessey, your word choice is more accurate.  Did they proceed to spit or swallow?

In that case, the Texas Rangers chocked.  They were up five games with nine to go.  They got swept by the Oakland A's (lost the AL West) and then lost to the O's in the Wild Card game.

    OUCH.  LOL
