Oh interesting.  First go round with Bradley in C and Sizemore in LF.  I like this ... other than the Nava in RF thing, though at least its not in Fenway.
yeah.  that's why the change.  obviously RF plays small in the stadium.  put speed in left & center.  a quick peek at basref shows that GS has played a total of 0 innings in LF at major league level.
I like the Sizemore LF/Bradley CF fit that is starting to be buzz, except for the Fenway factors:  a. Like Ells when Cameron was patrolling CF, Sizemore's decent wheels seem wasted in Fenway left, and b. Bradley looked great in the very tricky Fenway rightfield, seems like he should be there 10 times out of 10 if the option is Nava.  When Victorino returns of course, this is meaningless ... and that should be on this raodtrip, so my entire point about Bradley in RF is meangless actually ... until the next inevitable Vic muscle strain.

Good Morning all, first series of the season between the Yanks and the defending World Champions(ugh, i just threw up in mouth a little bit Tongue Out) series not only starts with Sox in defense of their title, but with some new faces in (McCann,Roberts,Beltran, Tanaka) and familiar faces out(Pettitte,Cano,Granderson,Mariano and the suspended A-Rod)..Ellsbury moves to the other side joining Youk and Aceves as recent players to start the series from opposite sides and Jeter returns from injury for his final ML season, Boston dominated the season series last year...Red Sox come in having won 2 of 3 against the Rangers while the Yanks drop 2 of 3 against the O's...Yanks also face the Sox with a couple of key players injured (Tex and Robertson) Game 1 of the 4 game series pits Clay Buchholz (0-0/12.46  12-1/1.74 in 2013) vs Michael Pineda(0-1/1.50 DL in 2013)..enjoy the games everyone..great to have baseball again!! Cool
Thanks, Jete, good stuff.  Good luck to you and your guys tonight, seriously.  Certainly, no injuries, but I'm not so sure about the winning part.

1 lousy, rotten, stinkin' game separates #1 from #5 (tie actually between us and the Orioles), in the AL.  Plus it's the Yankees in Yankee Stadium.  It's almost like we are in September battling for playoffs.  So definitely a great start to the season.

I watched Tanaka last night and was very impressed.  He gave up the 3 run dinger in the 2d, but came back with 5 straight scoreless innings, 7 innings total, against a pretty good Orioles lineup.  You just might have a gamer.   Interesting seeing Ellsbury as DH and batting 3d.  But he sure blew it in the bottom of the 8th popping up with Gardner on 3B and one out.  #3 hitter needs to bring guys home, not just get on base.

This is surely one of the most uneven rivalries in sports, but for us Sox fans it's a lot of fun--except when we get crushed of course.  And that has happened.  I still have nightmares about a certain five game series over one weekend in August 2006.   Ramirez was hitting up a storm, but it was nowhere near enough to prevent the sweep.  He took himself out of the 5th game with another famous bad knee excuse.

But today it's easy for a Sox fan to be expansive, plus you are definitely one of our better contributors.

I love the outfield for tonights game.  I'd hate it at Fenway, but in NY it's perfect.  At least...with the pieces we have it's perfect.
