    Suddenly, the OP is looking smarter; even I'm suspicious. Let's not forget TB DOES have gamers, and their season was on the line. Still .... there could be an investigation.

    That's true. Be careful what you wish for. The Rays are better then the Sox and the Yanks are going to realize that if they play which I think is a strong possibility.

    Girardi was doing what he should have done ... playing some AAA guys he wanted to take his measure of, while resting a couple or three regulars one night, then the other.  He certainly didn't have reason to fear the RS or prefer them post-season.  Fact is, the team you'd want to play would be the weakest, most choke-prone team and that's what we came up with as this season drew to a close.  We need to face it, deal with and move on ... to next year.  Let's have the class Paps did in post-game interviews: he made no excuses.  There may be reasons, but no excuses.
