If this is the best offer Youkilis can find, then he should take it.

If he visits Fenway as a Yankee, I would still salute him and give him a warm welcome.

    Same.

Seems like most of the fire has gone out of the Sox-Yanks rivalry of late...we have to worry more about the Orioles and Blue Jays nowadays.

I hope Youk does well for himself wherever he ends up.

Youk will be booed when returning to fenway only if he turns back the clock and hits over .300.

If he sucks in Pinstripes he'll be Yoooouked.

    I agree with you flapjack07.  :)

The Red Sox/Yankees rivalry has lost a lot of fire.  Like you said, we have to also worry about Tampa and its pitching, Baltimore and its 16-1 record in extra innings, Toronto and its "We took all of Miami's top players", and of course the Yankees who are always in the hunt.

The AL East = A nasty division to be in   LOL

Be honest, folks, when the year ended what did you think Youk was worth? I'm was thinking that he'd babely hang on and be offered something like 2 yrs/10M tops. Victorino? - My guess would have been something like 2/12M. Napoli, Mr 220 hitter? 1/8K maybe?...Astounding, no?

That has more to do with the Sox than NY.

That may change as the Sox work at improving their team.

Thanks to "coupon clipping Hal" the Yanks are falling back into the AL East pack.

The Yanks have several players of age coming off of injuries.

Can Robertson rebound to 2011 form and assume set-up role?

Who will play 3rd, and can they build their bench on limited payroll?

For the first time in memory the Yanks have legit concerns which in the past were dealt with by simply throwing more money at the problem. Money that now appears scarce.  If TWM reads this than I'am sure he will tell us that all the Yanks problems will all dissolve with the constant flow of future HOF prospects currently in the Yanks farm system.

As for the Sox I believe I made no bones about where their starting from.

The good news is because they have payroll flexability (unlike the yanks) the probabilty of improvement is much greater.

The AL East is wide open. That has not always been the case.

Youk will probably take the 1 yr deal with the Yanks (ARod will take the year off) and then go back to the FA market with 12M in the bank.  I am sure he likes the idea of playing for a winner vs Cleveland...or not.
