If this is the best offer Youkilis can find, then he should take it.
If he visits Fenway as a Yankee, I would still salute him and give him a warm welcome.
Same.
Seems like most of the fire has gone out of the Sox-Yanks rivalry of late...we have to worry more about the Orioles and Blue Jays nowadays.
I hope Youk does well for himself wherever he ends up.
"fire has gone out of the Sox-Yanks rivalry.
That has more to do with the Sox than NY.
That may change as the Sox work at improving their team.
Thanks to "coupon clipping Hal" the Yanks are falling back into the AL East pack.
The Yanks have several players of age coming off of injuries.
Can Robertson rebound to 2011 form and assume set-up role?
Who will play 3rd, and can they build their bench on limited payroll?
For the first time in memory the Yanks have legit concerns which in the past were dealt with by simply throwing more money at the problem. Money that now appears scarce. If TWM reads this than I'am sure he will tell us that all the Yanks problems will all dissolve with the constant flow of future HOF prospects currently in the Yanks farm system.
It's always about me with you I rent space in your head.
You conveniently ignore that while GS was alive I also wrote for years in numerous posts that Yankee fans should enjoy because things would change drastically after GS passes.
And they have, the old man was a genius who could leap over any financial obstacle baseball put in front of him.
Yankees like most other teams have talented youngsters in the farm system.
Yankees best talent finished 2012 at high A. But you might see Mark Montgomery next season.
If the Yankees want to compete in 2013 and get under the 189 payroll cap next season simple just give away enormous 1 year contracts and wait until the next wave is ready.
"RENTING SPACE IN YOUR HEAD"
Your responses to my every comment tells me you have that backwards.
"BEST TALENT FINISHED 2012 AT HIGH A BALL"
Sorry but no longer feel you have the ability to grade prospects.
Case in point. The 3 Killer Bee's to be added to the 2012 roster. Never happened.
Montero would tear up the league. Never happened.
The list goes on and on.
"IF THE YANKEES WANT TO COMPETE"
You're saying the Yankees have decided they don't want to compete in 2013.
This now has become my favorite TWMism.
Banuelos lost for the 2013 season for TJ surgery still a great prospect.
Montero was hitting in the worst offense in the AL one that was ranked one number 27 of all 30 MLB teams.
So based on his rookie season where he hit a number of times 4 and 5 in the lineup I say your comments re; Montero just shows how stupid you are. Was a bad trade for the Yankees I have no expectations for Pineda.
A very long way to go before the 2013 season, to be honest I've not been impressed with the FA crop this off-season including Hamilton because of his background and because of the type of contract he wants and can understand the Yankees not wanting to meet the demands of a few of these people.
I think the difference in the ownership post GS is that GS would have been involved in the Cepedes and Yu Darvish free agencies where these folks just let them pass.
But no one is more stealth than Cashman and the Yankee do have some chips even if there is something percolating the media in the case of the NY Yankees would be last to find out.
Too funny TWM.
You mention Banuelos but what happened to the other 2 killer bees?
Bottom line is Montero's numbers were'nt anywhere near what you predicted.
That and he is a butcher behind the plate which is why Seattle talked with Napoli with the intention of having him catch or play 1st.base to free up their other catcher/1st baseman. Bottom line is Montero is viewed as a DH which is what I have been saying all along.
Go back and you will see me posting here all of last season except for the 1 month honeymoon.
You say you were on political board during Oct. when the Yanks tanked. Love your timing.
Guess we can add politics to the list, baseball being on top of things you know very little about.
You have more excuses then the GOP.
