Hamilton, Granderson and Bautista are locks. Ron Washington will want Nelson Cruz, and the rule about taking at least one player from every team will make roster spots hard to come by. Ellsbury will have to hope Ron Washington likes him as much as you do.

Nelson Cruz has been hurt but has been on a tear since coming off DL..Ells has performed consistantly ALL year..He deserves it over Cruz.. If Washington pick himover Ells, we all know why..its one of HIS boys..

810,672 votes for Jorge, 1,22,687 for Crawford and over one million votes for Joe Mauer is all you need to know about all-star game voting.

    Re: Your All-Star Ballot

Ichiro will probably be a Mariners rep, even with Felix, as he is starting to come to life in his final years of old age on a bad team. Bellsbury needs to send Washington a box of chocalates and plead. Being an All-star bench guy comes down to more than one half season to earn it. They have to take one guy so every team has a player, so bench spots will be tight. Bellsbury hasn't earned a bench job off of one half a season in front of the best two hitters in baseball, over the first half.

Poor rationale and frankly balderdash. You are ranting way too much today. Ells deservese without question to be on the AL All Star Team. Whether he makes it or not, we will have to see. The votes by "us" are enough to let us all know that many members of the all star team as voted by the fans do not under any circumstances deserve to be there. e.g. Jeter hahahaha. Many examples over the years of even worse selections. Small market players have very little chance in the voting versus the juggernauts of Boston and NY where fans are "sick" and will vote over and over and over again for their team's players. Finally stating that Ells would not be having the year he is having if he was not in front of Gonzalez and I am assuming you are referring to Pedey is ridiculous. The only affect that has is in his run production, where he would be scoring tons of runs for other teams as well, maybe, maybe 10 less if he were playing for the Royals.
