Cowboys Won't Make The Playoffs.......

Whether you like TO or not, he scored touchdowns. Without him, the Cowboys are going to be hard press to punch it in the endzone through the air. Romo still have Barber in the backfield and franchise TE Witten and the underachieving Roy Williams, but it will be tough to replace Owens. Next year at this time Romo will be the one being cut as Jerry Jones trades the next five drafts away to get Sam Bradford.
With the more talented Eagles, Giants, and Redskins, the Cowboys will be lucky to win 9 games.

    Cowboys Won't Make The Playoffs.......

Do not discount the possiblity that jettisoning T.O. might be addition by subtraction in Dallas, but the root of the problem there (aside from Jerry Jones, of course) is the once and future Tony Romo. There seems to be a disturbing media penchant to pronounce Romo the leader of the "next generation" of elite quarterbacks without the small encumbrance of having actually accomplished anything of significance in the NFL. I've had lawnchairs that couldn't fold up like this guy under pressure. There is a tremendous spotlight attached to playing quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and I will be curious to see just how long Romo can go on sucking bongwater before Jones dumps him for the next overhyped, underperfomring media darling.

The Cowbys didn't make the playoffs last season. They need to fix their defensive backfield before they worry about the weapons on offense.

Their special teams was a huge disaster as well. I'd worry less about the offense and more about the defense as you suggest. You're right!

    Cowboys Won't Make The Playoffs.......
I think yall should be more concerned about your own team making the playoffs next season. Didn't yoru team miss the playoffs last season like the Cowboys? The Patriots have as big or bigger problems than the Cowboys, whether you like to admit it or not. You have a weak defense that so far has been helped by FA (Seau and Bruschi need to retire) and your offense is getting to easy to defend, especially for the above .500 teams. Even though Brady is coming back, he will only be about 80% of his old self at the most. He will never be the same for two reasons, his injury and the loss of the mastermind coaches that have left NE for better waters. Brady proved in the last Superbowl he played in, without the information gained by cheating on the sidelines he is nothing. You could tell when he was walking on the field that day knowing he was on his own without the ability to cheat due to spygate2 that reared its ugly head the day before, that he was like a deer in headlights. He knew there was little or no chance of the Patriots to win that game because they just aren't good enough without knowing ahead of time what the defense is doing. Last year was a fluke due to your cake schedule and fortunately you didn't back into an deserved playoff berth. Next season Brady will be lucky to win 9 games and frankly that won't be good enough to win your division or for your team to make the playoffs again. Take care of business at home before you worry about other teams.
I don't know why I am bothering to respond to such an idiot, but here goes. The Patriots did not make the playoffs because of a fluke. They are only the third team in NFL history with 11 wins not to make the playoffs. Any other year they make it. As for Brady's 2007 season, you will remember that the filming was caught in the first game of the season, after which the Patriots were probably more closely scrutinized than any team in the history of the NFL. They could not have done anything vaguely illegal without being punished. During the next seventeen games when the Patriots were being so closely scrutinized, Brady had arguably the greatest season any quarterback has had in the history of the NFL. Unfortunately, it did not end the way it should have, but the Patriots did not lose the Super Bowl because they were suddenly unable to cheat.

The Patriots' defense may need fixing, but don't you think the team has figured that out? Continued development of last year's draft choices and five--count 'em, five--first-day draft choices this year may help a lot.

    .8 x Brady = 3 x Romo
