Deal WAS Buchholz, Ellsbury, Lowrie for Santana

Silly Theo Chicks, unable to watch the floundering Red Sox offense on a team the Boston Globe describes as "flat lining like their GM" are turning back to a discredited myth.

Minnesota asked, as in by name, as in the first and only Red Sox pitcher they requested FOR CLAY BUCHHOLZ and Theo refused.

Theo COUNTEROFFERED (big word for substituted) with Jon Lester, who the Twins didn't want, but as a courtesy asked FOR LESTER'S MEDICAL RECORDS, not for the pitcher.

Yet dimwitted Theo Chicks like Smiley, bombarded months ago with NY Times, NY Post, SI.com and Boston Globe articles saying this very thing, are trying to drag up controversy by reviving this debate.

    Feel free.

How is asking for a player's medical records a "courtesy"?

If the Sox offense (never mind that as usual, pitchers are ahead of hitters at this point)
is "flat lining", how would Santana being here be helpful?

Ancient history anyway...to anyone but whining knuckleheads. Move on.

Czap has a problem. Its called "Theo Chickitis". What it does is causes a Tourette's type reaction to fact, truth or basic common sense.

    Czap can't control it...

You have the problem. Its called same topic. Theo bashing. Its old and its wrong. You fake lawyer are a jealous jerk. Two championships and a team built for the future. Quit whinin about Theo. Did you see where he got GM of the year? What did you get? Lawyer of the year? Not. Its called Moron of the Year. Congrats you barely beat out Cron.

He's in the second year of his deal making 24 mil a season, and he's already having elbow problems. It may be nothing, but I wouldn't be too confident about that if I were a Mets fan. That is why I didn't want to do the deal

Santana can shut it down for the entire season this year and STILL return as a 2 time AL Cy Young award winner who had the BEST ERA in MLB last year.

Buchholz won't win 6 games for the Red Sox this season.

Santana's best in MLB ERA for the Red Sox instead of the Mets last season? Red Sox repeat as world champs.

    Fair enough.

What about if there were no elbow problems? I think you'd have to do it. Santana's a one of a kind pitcher.

    Law,
I think it's been brought up before and you've chosen to ignore it, but reason # 1 for turning down the deal for Santana was the number of years and money that was to be required to sign him. The Red Sox hadn't and still have not offered 6+ years to any pitcher. Giving up 3 players under their control salary-wise for a number of years made the deal not worth it for Santana.\[Quote]Santana can shut it down for the entire season this year and STILL return as a 2 time AL Cy Young award winner who had the BEST ERA in MLB last year.

By the end of 2010 it will be 3 seasons since the Red Sox were in the World Series.

Cooking and watering down the stats doesn't change the fact that Johan Santana had the BEST ERA in MLB in 2008, which makes the Theo Chick claim that Jon Lester was as good as Santana last year LOOK FOOLISH.

By the end of 2010 the team on the field for the Red Sox will be a distant memory. So will the chances the current Red Sox team have to win it all be.

I told flaw months ago it was Buchholz, Ellsbury Lowrie and MAYBE Masterson and the guy insisted we could sub in Crisp for Ells b/c they had the same value.

    Idiot

Now he is admitting to this being the deal AND, in light of Santana (a player CLEARLY in decline NOW from 3 excellent years 2004-06) having an elbow issue, being 30 and JUST ENTERING THE 137.5 MILLION EXTENSION... it would be foolish to trade those 3 guys for him..

Dumb Ramekap NEVER said that. Moonslav and I were all over that Theo Chick arguing that it was Jon Lester.

Dumb Ramekap tried to deflect the conversation to Coco Crisp. As I predicted months ago, Ramekap would come back playing DUMB and pretend none of that exchange happened.
