Do you Haiku?Opening Day is right around the corner, and weÆd like to celebrate the newfound international flair of the home town team with the Boston.com Haiku Contest.
To enter, simply submit your haiku below by hitting the "Reply" button. WeÆll be collecting haikus leading up to April 2 û Opening Day! On April 3, weÆll post the 10 best submissions and fans will be able to vote for their favorite. The winner will be announced the day of Dice KÆs first start (likely April 5).
The subject of your haiku should be about the hometown team, or our new pitcher from Japan.
The 10 finalists will each receive a Dice-K T-shirt, courtesy of the Boston Globe Store. The grand prize winner will receive a Dice-K prize pack, including a T-shirt, and other baseball themed prizes.
WhatÆs a haiku? A haiku is a Japanese verse form consisting of three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables.
HereÆs an example:
Dice-KÆs first Sox start
Gyroballs will be flying
Win it all again
Now itÆs your turnàgood luck!
