    Trade Lowrie, Youk, Ortiz, Buckholz to Milwaukee
    We get Prince Fielder and JJ Hardy..

    Feilder at first.
    Hardy at short.

    Lineup:
    Ellsbury
    Pedroia
    Fielder
    Bay
    Drew
    Hardy
    Lowell 3B
    Baldelli DH

    I'd take Youk over Fielder anyday! Never mind giving up all the others too.

    NOT a good trade at all -- IMO!

    Holy crap -- I just realized you included Ortiz in the deal too!! What are you smokin over there??

    howbout we trade, Ellsbury, Pedroia, Youk, Ortiz, Lowrie, Beckett, Lester, Dice-k, Papelbon, Masterson and Lars Anderson for Carlos Ruiz!!!

    That is a horrible trade. Youkilis was far better than Fielder at the plate last year, and is a much better defender. Adding in Ortiz and a bunch of prospects? That trade makes the Red Sox a worse team. Any trade for Fielder would have to be centered around prospects without giving up our best players.

    This would not work as Ortiz is a 10/5 man and would have to approve the trade and I am sure he would refuse. Know what you are dealing with before opening yourself up.

    Wake up Youk is more of a ballplayer than anyone you mentioned. He will be here for a long time and out hit Fielder any day.

    i think we should trade fans who propose trades as if it was MLB2009 video game! But alas, that isn't logical either.. as much as it would be fun to do!

    Leave the trades and the contracts to the teams and stop the belly-aching over things you can't control or understand.

    I LIKE THE IDEA OF PURSUING BRAUN, BUT WHO CATCH THE BASEBALL IF WE TRADED AWAY YOUK, FIELDERS DEFENSE PROBABLY COSTS THE TEAM 20 TO 25 RUNS A YEAR, THANKS, BUT NO THANKS.

    Just my opinion but I now regret that I even came on this board today after reading this thread. It has to be the dumbest one I've seen in quite some time and, believe me, I've seen some lu lous.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    If we lose Youk (except to a tragedy like a career ending injury or death) then I am boycotting this team, no matter WHO they get!!! He is the epitome of what a Red Sox player should be, in my opinion.

    PS - not to mention Ortiz has 10/5 no trade rights AND would veto a trade to the NL since he hates playing 1B.
