This will be the absolute sweetest year for a Pats Lombardi Trophy after this fiasco. You can bet the Pats are fired up to a man to show the world that sideline signal stealing has not meant jack in all the W's put up on the board the past six years. You watch, we will go at least 14-2 during the regular season this year WITHOUT the aid of signal stealing. And this continuing dominance will be the best medicine for silencing the critics who pretend to believe we are not deserving of our past championships. What a crock.

It really stinks that Belichick should serve as the "fall guy" for all the "cheaters" in the NFL. It's payback time on the football field for the next sixteen weeks!!!

    dogsfriend,

Lets hope the players feel the same. If they do its going to be fun. I know I would be fired up and leave it all on the field every game to silence the nay sayers.

He doesn't stuff needles anymore, just QBs. Your guy is gonna get hit to the point of fumbling in a crucial situation. Might just be Phillips or Weddle, not Merriman.

    sonieboy,

You can bet all the Pats players are rippin' mad at Goodell, the Jets Head Cretin (what's his name ???, who gives a flyin' you know what), the NFL Security committee responsible for regulating this video rule (made up of representatives from 5-6 NFL teams, all of whom are gunning for the Pats, Indy is one of them) and anyone else responsible for singleing out Belichick and the Pats as whipping boys to put an end to a common practice throughout the league.

If you have not already done so, read the John Madden reaction to this whole farce on these Globe Sports pages. He sums up the situation very practically and spoken from the heart of a real football man. He thinks it is a sideshow not worthy of our attention because it detracts from what really matters, great football being played on the field. Sunday night was supposed to be a game for the ages. Now every other sound bite will be about the harsh example that has been set for the rest of the league should anyone else try to be so brash.

Despite the distraction, we are going to witness another virtual clinic on how to dismember an opposing team on Sunday night, much the same as was meted out last Sunday against that Cretin's team. What's his name? Ah who cares.

I can't wait until the next game between the Pats and the Jests when the snitch Mangini has to come here to play. There won't be any camera along the Patriot sidelines and yet the score of the game will be even more humiliating to the Jests and the snitcher. Eric will have to disguise himself as a man in order to be not recognized. And when he slithers across the field to shake hands at the end of the rout BB will redirect him over to old Jackie MacMullen so that she can plant a big kiss on him.

    chargergay,

are you sticking up for LT? In my lifetime I have seen three football players cry after losing a game: Kordell Stewart when we ended his career and LT and Phillip Rivers after they lost a game that was handed to them on a plate. You guys were jokes when you had a good coach and are laughing stock with Norv Turner. There will be no cameras looking at your pathetic signs this Sunday when you get destroyed. If you have half a ball you will be back here on Monday to take the verbal abuse that you deserve.

BTW, so sorry about about the Pats mocking your roid head's dance.

    XamSD,

Whats your point?? If my nemory serves me right the Pats beat the Bears and the Condors (thats your teams real name). Using your line of reasoning means you too agree that the Pats are a team to reckon with and superior to the two examples you provided.

    XamSD,

Whenever the Vulchers I'm sorry the Condors visit another stadium Your hyped up LB performed his little dance after making a play however after it occured in SD the Condors showed their real colors and cried foul. Lead by the most gifted RB in the league.

Speahing of a weak schedule check out 2006 Condors schedule. Enough said.

Condors are much too graceful VULCHER is more your style.

    dogsfriend,

Hope you are correct. As I previously stated this whole affair would have sent me into another gear, but thats me. Everyone reacts to controversy differently.

My fears are they may be thinking and planning their revenge on the field of battle in lieu of resorting to controlled reaction which reults in errors. Gametime the planning is completed and the time for execution and having FUN as a player.

Monster Fan if you're out there.....

to the extent we broke an NFL rule we did something wrong, but I agree with your statement we did nothing wrong when considered in the larger context of the NFL because EVERYONE does what we got caught doing.....and in true Belichick form, we were just doing it "better" and more thoroughly

you can bet the severity of the punishment was measured to stop the behavior deadin its tracks throughout the league and I can imagine Goodell's intent will work very effectively

oh, I can'twait for Sunday night

We still have fourteen more games to go to silence ALL the critics, but last night was an absolutely beautiful start. For all those football fans who have been trying to believe (ie Tony Dungy and company) that our aggressive signal stealing efforts were giving the Pats an unfair advantage and should tarnish their superbowls: to you I say simply, you are going to witness the 2007 NE Patriots as one of the best NFL teams of all time. Bill Belichick and his team are now on a mission to prove the critics wrong and they will not be denied. The silencing of the misplaced rhetoric of Chris Collinsworth and company began last night with an absolute clinic led by Tom Brady on how to dominate a (formidable??) football opponent in every phase of the game. Incredible!!!

    sonieboy,

as expected, our Pats controlled their revenge with perfect precision....what a beautiful sight to behold and to imagine there are 14 more games to go in this most exhilirating of seasons...I cannot remember seeing Brady more confident and poised at this early stage of the season as he has been this year....unbelievable!!!

enjoy, because the best is yet to come if everyone stays healthy....and to think we don't have Seymour or Harrison yet!!!!

    needfootball,

Belichick was satisfying some obsessive compulsive paranoia, but that is what makes him the most prepared coach in the NFL and perhaps of all time. He obviously went way too far to thumb his nose at the NFL rules, but to think the Pats aggressive signal stealing tactics were responsible for our dominance in the league these past several years is just pure folly. The team has been pushed against the wall by their many of their competitors with this outrageous suggestion and they are now committed to a man to perish the thought from ever being considered again after the conclusion of the 2007 season. This is going to be one record breaking year in so many categories of the NFL for the NE Patriots

    dogsfriend,

Thanks for the reply yes it was thrilling to watch. You could see it on their faces when they walked out onto the field. BB this ones for you. Hope they retain their tanasity if so they will rule. Only the colts and Pittsburg stan in their way. I get the feeling that their is something going on with Indy. They are too quite on this.
