Not worth the cost to get him. He´s a NL pitcher and he knows it. Smart decision is to be patient with young pitchers such as Buchholz and Bowden. -

Bowden over Peavy? lol
Bowden's projected to be comparable to Jeff Suppan and Kevin Slowey. -

When Bowden and Bucholtz are getting kicked around like tin cans for some second division team like the Nats or the Pirates in 5 years, that statement is really going to be hilarious. -

wasn't peavey's wbc 2s a lot like his playoff #s?
He might have a problem dealing with pressure -

WBC games are early ST tune ups. They means absolutely nothing at all.
Peavy doesn't have a large enough splayoff ample size to be conclusive of anything.
He's a top ten pitcher in all of MLB. -

NL pitcher or no, its crazy to not want him as a 4th starter. Of course the issue is who to give up for him. -

Padres need to replenish their depleted farm system and Peavy is the stimulus package to get it done.
One of Padres top prospect is a 1st baseman name Kyle Blanks, which is a problem as the team already has a stud 1st baseman.
Peavy is signed for 3 more years at 52 plus a 4 year team option, so its not totally ridiculous.
Peavy should have the same kind of sucess that Beckett has.
Its all about what the Sox have to give up. Additionally Peavy would want to renegotiate his current contract, which would directly affect signing Beckett to another contract.
Peavy in the 4 hole on the Sox staff could be really scary. -

Beavis is correct.
The addition of Peavy to either Boston or NY would be the difference maker, IMO. Right now they're only projected to be within a few games of each other. The Peavy acquisition would change that.
