NO question - Mayflower Beach in Dennis. It's absolutely beautiful, and when the tide goes out, the tidal pools are amazing. It has a great food/ice cream shack. I just love everything about it! -

10 is not enough to even touch upon our beaches! All of those are gorgeous - but so many more gorgeous ones on Cape Cod - no Dennis Beaches, or Bayside beaches were mentioned.... -

Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester should be in the Top 10. I am shocked that was not on the list. Sorry, but Nantucket and the Vineyard beaches just don't offer much for kids. Been to all of them on the islands, pretty, but no fun.
Have you ever taken a swim/ride in the channel at Good Harbor? Have you tried surfing? Great place to learn is at Good Harbor or Long Beach. Body Surfing? Very safe at Good Harbor compared to the beaches along the National Seashore or South Beach at the Vineyard for kids and adults.
If you are looking for fun in the water- Good Harbor is one of the best in MA. If you looking for sunset, sand dunes, or long walks on a beach - go to Race Point or Coast Guard. -

With out a doubt Old Silver Beach, North Falmouth. Powdery white sand, packed sand bottom, and sparkeling clear warm water. -

For small children, general scenic views, and gorgeous sunsets my vote is for Mayflower beach in Dennis, hands down. During medium tide there are beautiful sand bars that develop to bring children out into the sea, you can build a sand castle during the day on the bar and watch as the sea claims it by high tide. The sand is soft and warm water currents sweep through all the time. Absolutely love it but you have to get there before 9 am for parking! -

Longnook Beach on Truro, Cape Cod. Great town beach, great dunes and sand cliffs, ocean side waves, not a lot of people. Get there early!

Good Harbor in Gloucester, the best beach outside of Cape Cod. Huge beach, nice waves. Cranes is nice, but bombarded with green heads. Horseneck Beach is loaded with seaweed, so bad you need to shower off once you pull yourself out.

Any beach that charges $25 to park should not be on ANY list, unless it's some sort of extortion list. Absolutely outrageous. -

Good Harbor needs to be on this list of top beaches -- I'm not surprised that I'm not the only one who called this out here. This beach has so much more to offer -- a long, clean sandy strip of sand; an island you can walk to at low tide; dunes you can relax along; a tidal creek you can drift on; a "lagoon" where the creek and the ocean meet; rocks you can explore; and some of the nicest views you'll see in all of NE -- of Cape Ann's unique twin light houses, spectacular homes, boats on the horizon and, each morning, an amazing sunrise. And it's all just minutes from Route 128 and walking distance to a supermarket, diner and ice cream shop -- no long lines of traffic to get here and no nasty "greenheads" that plague other beaches. They don't call this Good Harbor for nothing -- in fact, one of our guests (we own the Blue Shutters Beachside B&B here) just noted that we should rename it "Best Harbor" Beach. I can't imagine that the folks who made these choices have ever visited this beach. Come on up and see for yourself...and I'm sure Good Harbor will make the list next year.
