And what do you suggest people do when take note of your favorite and try to go there - short of renting a house? There is NO parking and NO facilities at this beach - so shouldn't be on anyone's list. -

In Response to Where are your favorite Massachusetts beaches?:North Shore, South Shore, Cape Cod and the islands, Massachusetts boasts some of the best beaches in all of New England. Tell us where your favorite is, and you may help determine a winner in our upcoming beach competition.

Wingaersheek Beach has beautiful rocks to climb at low tide and high. The sand packs to a good consistency for sand castles and my wheelchair can roll on the sand. -

Onset is my favorite. Crane's is nice, but costs too much. (I wish I could nominate Wollaston Beach, but it's not a great beach - I liked it because I grew up only a block away.) -

Old Silver Beach. Hit up the Seacrest for a drink and you park for free with no line. Drinks are pricey, but you're at a resort. Water is warm in Buzzard's Bay and you have a west view, which is great for sunsets. -

In Response to Re: Where are your favorite Massachusetts beaches?:i've been to all of these beaches, some are great, but Plum Island has to be in the top ten...
Posted by cwconnThought somebody would never mention the best beach ever. You can walk for miles and miles. Or sit and be mesmerized by the ocean. Or enjoy playing in the sharkless water. I suppose boring for kids but I'm not a kid and after 40 years it is still MY favorite beach. Half the fun is hoping you don't meet anyone coming back! By heeding the admonishment to leave the place as you found it and do not pick the beach plums in season you keep a smile on mother nature's face.

Can anyone recommend a good beach on the North Shore that's handicapped accessible - no steps, perhaps a boardwalk onto the sand? -

Old Silver Beach in Falmouth. The water isn't rough, perfect for families with small children, and the water is actually warm because it's facing the West! -
