Don't miss 3 Scoops in Brighton Center - they serve a relatively new Brand called COOP'S and the OMFG CHOCOLATE and COFFEE and DONUTS flavors are unreal.

Down River Ice Cream in Essex, MA.  http://downrivericecream.com/

Totally worth the beautiful drive there - make a day of it and have some clams for lunch or dinner at Woodman's and ice cream for dessert :)

Down River's cups and spoons are recycleable or compostable and they try to be as green as possible - which is only cool because their daily home made ice cream is AMAZING.  You can feel good about supporting their business while not compromising taste or quality to do it.  They are super-friendly and generous about giving out sample tastes.  Kung Fu Grasshopper (mint ice cream with oreo cookies) and Oh, Snap ( fresh ginger and chewy ginger snap cookies) are 2 faves!

    SOMERSET CREAMERY!

Somerset Creamery, Route 6, Somerset, MA (between Fall River and Swansea).  This is real, authentic ice cream without additives or stabilizers. It melts so fast, you have to race the drips!  My favorite is GrapeNut (as in the cereal). Butter crunch is also divine.
