    Any discussion of the best in the area has to include Bedford Farms in Bedford, MA and Schoolhouse in Harwich, MA.  Both home made and wonderful!

    Where's Hodgies in Amesbury or Kingston?? Their portions are so big, I have to order a 1/4 kiddie! All homemade and delicious!

    Hodgie's in Amesbury for me.  I love Richardson's, too.  

    JP Licks and Toscanini's?  Total ripoffs, imo.  You can get Richardson's ice cream at Somerville Theater, directly across from JP Licks in Davis Square.  I would estimate that dollar for dollar you get 3x the ice cream, and it's better quality, too.

    Nona's in Hingham, hands down best.  Toasted coconut is my fave flavor, but I have yet to try a flavor there I don't like.

    It's lewd, vesivius, salacious, outrageous that Crescent Ridge in Sharon MA is not on this list.  National Geographic lists tham as one of the top ten ice cream makers in the world.  National Geographic people!  That's big time!

    Mount Desert ice cream in Portland and Bar Harbor Maine.  Best ice cream ever.  Unusual flavors like salted caramel, fudge stout, strawberry prosecco sorbet, jack daniels, bakaliowe, many more.

    I always thought Christina's was the best around until my girlfriend took me to the Ice Cream Machine in Cumberland, RI and I was blown away.

    i cant believe they missed Meadowlands ice cream in Tewksbury.  They have been making home made ice cream for about 100 years.

    Wenger Farms on 126 in Bellingham.  Best homemade ice cream, and great farmstand, and little country market. It's awesome.
