That Brian Boru and Rira in Portland, ME did not make this list is a crime against humanity. Someone must be punished.

What are your favorite Irish pubs in New England?

Don't forget about Kelly's Row in downtown Dover, NH or Shaskeen on Elm Street in Manchester, NH. These are two "authentic" ones as opposed to many of the tourist traps that have popped up. Of course I recommend going to the greatest "pub" of all: the spinning bar at the top of the Guinness Brewery in Dublin where you get an bird's eye view of this great city. Plus the beer flows like water up there! I was there on my honeymoon!

What are your favorite Irish pubs in New England?
Irish pubs are the most boring places on earth.
Then you have to be awfully boring yourself. You obviously never been to a real one. A lot more fun than any restaurant that I've been to where everyone is too snobby because they are sipping their wine and cheese.
Salt hill pub in Lebanon, NH is great!
True, been to that one. Salt Hill interestingly enough is a section of Galway. Some pretty good pubs over there, I might add!

Tommy Doyle's in Harvard Square, The Druid in Cambridge, & JJ Foleys. The Burren in Davis Square pulls a good pint as well.

What are your favorite Irish pubs in New England?

Tommy Condon's in Old Charleston SC is a great Irish joint, nice people, good food and music, and they pour a good Guinness.

For a genuine pub, Colin Kilpatrick's Governor's Tavern, East Hampton CT, as close as you can get to a good hometown saloon. Everybody knows your name if you've been in the place for more than one pint, and the food is great.

And there's another great joint in South Bend IN, the Kit Kat... never mind.

I second the Old Court in downtown Lowell! Good grub, great atmosphere, and local entertainment. It's worth the drive down from NH...

We have two of the best here in Jamaica Plain: The Brendan Behan and James' Gate.

They are both well run pubs each with a charming and unique atmosphere.

No food at the Behan but James' Gate serves fine food both in the pub abd in the restaurant.

    Worth a visit.
