In Response to What are your favorite New England clam shacks?:McCrays II in Tiverton, RI. The best kept secret in New England. The first McCrays Clam Shack closed in the 80's I think. It was across the street from Lincoln Park in Dartmouth and nobody I know can understand why it closed...it always seemed to be packed. It dissappeared for about 20 years and from what I understand a former worker has the famous recipe and opened up McCrays II a few years ago in Tiverton. It's a hole in the wall kind of dumpy looking plaza but the clams are great.

In Response to What are your favorite New England clam shacks?:Woodman's on the North Shore is by far the best. Depending on when you decide to go and indulge in the fried clams the line can be down the street but the wait is worth for the most sweetest clams you will ever eat. My husband and I will be going there to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary on June 29th ( anniversary is the 30th). We have been going there since the 1970's...Yum Yum Yum. They also have great cole slaw....My husband loved Woodmans, we had been going there for years, even before they renovated the place. In our younger days we would get a group of people together and have a good time. Congrats on your wedding anniversary and enjoy. My wedding anniversary was also June 30th, we made it to 35 years before he went on his journey to the sky. Have some extra coleslaw for me.

Tony's clam shack is by far the best. I travel to Maine at least twice a month, stopping at clam spots along the way. There is no comparison to Tony's. -

Champlin's in Gallilee, down by Salty Brine Beach has awesome seafood! The clams are great, always fresh and not greasy and they are very generous and reasonable. You can sit out on the deck and see the ocean. -
