I love Tony's because it is down the street from my house. I have been to the Clam Box in Ipswich and I was not disappointed but I think they should include the Hingham Lobster Pound- it's SO good!

And clam chowder only comes in white in this state. Don't get it twisted.

[QUOTE]Have been out of NE for over 14 years, yet back in the day it was Markie's or Brown's in Seabrook, NH. The other is McIntyres on Old Rt. 1. It may have changed names... Its been years.... Those are my picks from North Carolina... Hope to be home for the first time in 9 years, after my parents... Seafood is next... By the way, Southerners are clueless about Haddock and Scrod....

How can you guys always NOT mention the clam shack in Hingham....my gott! Just because its nearly impossible to get in and out without causing a major accident? On 3A, just before making the 90 degree right to the beach and Hingham Center.

Cooke's Hyannis on Cape Cod, hands down.  And why cant we have a warm lobster roll with melted butter instead of mayo? I know I used to have them, I think in Maine.

No contest, Essex Seafood on Rt. 133 in Essex.  Plentiful, fresh and tasty.  Ti's the best.  Second place has to go to Markeys in Seabrook.

I first went to Five Islands in Georgetown Maine about 20 years ago when no one knew about it.  Just fell upon it while exploring the coast.   I grew up in Maine but had never bothered to drive that far for seafood, until I lived in Massachusetts.  The views are spectacular and you feel like the food has just come out of the water.  You can go to Rye beach State park next door and there is an ice cream shack there.

I love this place and hope it never gets totally run over by new Yorkers.  The length of the drive out the peninsula should take care of that.

Red Wing Diner in Walpole - awesome fried clams.  They also have a fisherman's platter that is huge that no one person can eat (well maybe if you have a Vince Wilfork appetite you can).

I can't believe the article didn't include the Clam Shack in Kennebunkport. It was featured on Food Wars and is "famous" for the lobster roll. Allisons in K'port has some pretty amazing fried clams, as well! Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area.
