    Jamaica Plain's music scene

Jamaica Plain has been gaining a reputation for showcasing underground bands and music. Who are some of your favorite bands who play in JP? What are your favorite places that have live music?

So glad you featured Midway!  Heard Debo Band (Ethiopian music) there and it was awesome.  Also Love Whip play there often and the fab lead singer, Erin Harpe, does a monthly show at Milky Way of Delta Blues, Memphis Minnie inspired that is so worth checking out.

When the Alchemist was still around I saw a couple good shows.  One of which was a solo show by Aaron Perrino of The Sheila Divine and Dear Leader.   I hope when the new place opens where the Alchemist used to be (Canary Square I believe), there will be live music.

The Haven, in Hyde Square on Perkins Street is trying to get a music license so they can have live music.

As stated before the Midway is also a great place.
