Favorite movie that was filmed in South Boston

Southie has been the setting for many great films over the past decade, including Good Will Hunting, The Boondock Saints, Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, and The Departed. Do they accurately represent Southie? Which film is your favorite? -

Boondock Saints is the most overrated movie of all time. All it represents well is p*ss poor filmmaking.
Departed is my favorite. Another good one not on the list is Monument Ave., though that's more of a Charlestown movie I guess. -

The real soul of south boston died when the bigots took over the st. patrick's day parade and made it a private bigot parade. The real Irish soul in Ireland is one that welcomes all in their parade. Until all south bostonians can march proudly in the parade, it will remain a sham. If ya want to learn what being Irish is all about go watch the parade in Dublin. Then learn from the best......those who came from Ireland, years ago, poor and hungry and would give their last pennies to build the churches and schools here in South Boston. Yes even those churches and schools that we sold out from under them and converted into condominiums. -

Sooo.... The Town was about/filmed in Charlestown. Also, Boondock Saints, while about Southie, was actually filmed mostly in Toronto with only skyline shots of Boston.
Getcha facts straight. -

The Departed was horrible.
Remake of Infernal Affairs. 2002?
Good Will Hunting- Overated. Two Cambridge kids do a movie about Southie?
Gone Baby Gone- Dorchester. Check a map.
Mystic River- Chelsea. Not even close to Southie.
Boondock Saints- Filmed in Toronto. Really not close. -

The Bar used in Gone Baby Gone is the one where Summer and L meet.Mystic River was filmes all over the Boston area, including Canton.
Anyone who grew up in the streets appreciated Good Will Hunting. Especially the part in the Harvard Bar where Will and his friends pretend not to know Ben for a few minutes. It was the appearance of Ben being alone which prompted the havard preppie to tease him.
