Harvard Square bar/restaurant Grendel's Den is celebrating 40 years. http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/cambridge/2011/03/grendels_den_celebrates_suprem.html

Over ten years ago, I used to work in Harvard Square as a waitress and then at a record store. Grendel's Den was one of the places that all the co-workers would gather for drinks after our shifts were over. I have great memories of learning to play chess there, eating cheap yummy appetizers, and drinking good beer with interesting people. I've lost contact with just about all of those people, but to know that Grendel's is still there for me to visit, warms my heart and brings me back to those fun times. So many other places have closed in the Square. I hope Grendel's and Charlie's Kitchen stay for years to come.
