    city councilors do not respond

      when will this city council listen to its citizens, certain city councilors do not answer letters or e-mails or read any proposals
     Now the fun begins I am looking into each councilors campaign
     contributions ---maybe I find some corruption;

    Re: city councilors do not respond

    I've emailed 5 councillors at various times and 2 have been very responsive, and I never heard back from the other 3.  I've called two of them and one of them was very responsive by phone, the other preferred only to deal with me by email.  So it's a mixed bag and there's room for improvement.

    I don't think threatening to dig up dirt on them is going to help get them to listen, but I can sympathize with your frustration.  Try contacting the councillor for your ward, they tend to be the most responsive.  Also realize that most of them have another job and only get around a $16k stipend for being a councillor.  So they aren't always able to respond as quick as we'd like.

    To farenella
    Councillors do respond if you are courteous and show some respect. However, if you threaten them, are rude to them, or are down right mean and nasty, then they will not respond.

    Also remember that they are people and have lifes, family etc, and sometimes cannot respond right away

    As for digging up any dirt, I think you should worry that people will learn what is in your background.

    Re: city councilors do not respond

    First of all Malden is a corrupt city, thats a fact. Councellors are set up to speak for the people in their ward  but even at this low level of polotics all they want is personal gain, to be in the spotlight,and a acquire the DB sense of entitlement that is inherint in every politician on the face of the earth. That being said I feel that instead of digging up dirt we need to work toward the future of our community as a community in a proactive way. Also is the reason your calling them a legitimate concern for the community in general or for you personally? One voice may go unheard but enough voters bitching and moaning will get Howard's circus jumping through a hoop or two.

    Re: city councilors do not respond

      I tried being nice and did it with political correct letters, I submitted two(2) Proposals to them and the mayor's office and they have gone on deaf ears. Both Proposals explain how this city could fix it streets and sidewalks with and have street sweeping Signs installed using Stimulus Money--not even Councilor Neal Anderson who lives 4 houses up from me will respond. Other elected Officials are waiting for them to respond---Senator kerry office and Senator Browns office and U.S. Rep Ed. Markey all have responded in a positive manner. To me this makes the Mayor and City Council open to finding everything possible
    about them----Like having a yacht in your yard without a proper permit, and moving it Illegally. I have the laws to prove that this
    City Councilor is breaking them; Ask Neal Anderson about his Yacht:

    The fact is that if your proposals were as poorly written as your posts here, it's entirely unsurprising that no one can be bothered to read them, let alone respond.

    I know nothing of Neal Anderson, but if you figure that harassing him is a better use of your time than learning English, well... I'm Team Yacht.

    Wisdomy---First did you read any of my Proposals!
      Second---do you know what Stimulus Money is!
      Third----Sen Kerry, Sen.Brown and Rep. Markey
       thought they had merit and responded to my letters!
      Fourth---Even the White House responded to my
       Proposals with letters!
      Fifth--- Why has this City Council& Mayor not responded
       to my letters---If they cannot accept the idea people
       besides them can think of ways to Improve this city.
      Finally---I care for this City and  its Citizens maybe more
       people like me need to speak up;
       Come to tomorrow nights Council meeting and be Active;

    First - Questions should be punctuated with question marks. (It looks like this "?" and can be found just to the left of the "shift" key (no... the OTHER shift key), which you're rather misusing as well.  There is, in fact, a whole world of punctuation outside of the exclamation mark.  Open yourself up to it.)

    Second - Senators have large staffs to assist in the cursory skimming of constiuents' rantings and mailing of form letter responses.  City Councillors, not so much.

    Third - I fully endorse attending Council meetings and otherwise being active in local politics.  I'm just saying that there's a difference between wanting to improve the city, and harassing local officials like a petulant child throwing a tantrum for attention.

     to Wisdomy; Today I dropped off letters to the Mayor,City Council   and the Malden Redevelopment Authority, than when I arrived home

     I had 3 messages from Rep. Paul donato, Senator Kerry Boston

     Office and Rep. Edward Markey office in Washington.

      Found out that the Mayor's Office and City Council have never

      applied for Stimulus Money (shovel Ready Projects) see why I

      am upset. it is Political knowledge that when elected to Office

      you are Obliged to return phone calls, e-mails, and respond to

      letters but these elected officials do not answer any of the above;

       When will the Citizens of malden wake up.

       If your smart than tell me your name or are you part of the

       system. I am an Activist     and will stay one;

    Sigh.

    If Paul Donato, Ed Markey, and John Kerry even recognized your name, let alone cared what you thought, rest assured they'd lean quite successfully on Neal Anderson to return your calls.

    And I don't tell crazy people on the interwebs my name, dear.  It's a thing.

    I'm also guessing city officials are less likely to respond to stalker-types who might, say, be convicted sex offenders, just to pick a completely random example. That is to say, some people make themselves easily ignorable.

    Ah, bless that First Amendment, though. Everyone gets to share the fruits of what he chooses to call his mind with his fellow man.

    To Afgvet & Satnnlace----wish I had time to discuss things but I been investigating the City Councilors and it is fun research,  all it took was
     a Massachusetts trial court law library card -----what it gives me is
     the right to look up everyone and every law and how these City Councilors are breaking them. the Most important one is the Open

    To start a Crime Watch you need people that care. You need a Police Department that wants crime to go down. Believe me, Malden has neither.

    Did you find anything good?  We need some help with fighting the 20 year lease or our public park, the Mayor and council signed .  We hear they might not have acted lawfully for several reasons.  I can't understand how any organization can get a lease for a public space for 20 years.  The Mayor had the nerve to walk out of the school committee meeting before hearing the opinions of his colleagues on the matter.

    Our next Ward 5 community meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 26th at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, City Hall.

    The purpose of the meeting is to discuss/provide updates on:
    1. The proposed renovations to Roosevelt Park.
    2. The Northern Strand Bike Path.
    3. The Davidson Chevrolet property.
    4. Impact to the surrounding neighborhood.

    Mayor Howard and Stephen Wishoski, Executive Director of the Malden Redevelopment Authority will be in attendance.

    Although I am hosting the meeting it is open to any Malden resident who has questions and or concerns about these topics.  I would appreciate it if you would help spread the word about the meeting by forwarding this invitation to friends and neighbors.

    Thanks,
