If you have the funding, the people, and the legs to do the work on a campain...go for it. But you make sure you keep your word if you do get elected or they will eat you alive.

We need to hold the Ward Council Members accountable the only one that I hear of time and again holding meetings is Bucci and to be honest I don't think may people go to her meetings, but at least she is holding them. Posted by ThreeStooges88

She is???  I'm a resident in her ward and I've never been informed of any meetings.  Are these general meetings held on a certain day of each month?  How do residents know when/where they're happening?  Maybe that's why people aren't going.  I'm sure plenty of ward residents would like to have a town meeting type forum to express concerns.

For instance, why is Malden browned out now?  What do we have to do to get streetlights turned on?  Are business owners in the ward held accountable for the condition of their properties?  Who's responsible for removing graffiti from business buildings?  Who's responsible for picking up our recycle items when JRM collectors drop them on the ground and walk away? Why have I not seen one single police car in 11 months?

If we had a forum to express these concerns I'm sure Ward Councilors would be happy to address them right?

I get updates all the time about the meetings in Ward 8, the events taking place, what is going to be taking place etc.
Send Bucci and email and ask her to add you on to her email list.
It seems most of the meetings I have been emailed about take place down at the Linden School. There was one not that long ago back in June.

Didn't they have some kind of Crime Watch in Ward8, and what happened to that? This would be a good time for all the Wards to start one since we are going to lose so many Police Officers.

     yOUDIDMEWRONG---WARD WATCH---WARD 8 did try to start a Crime

watch program but the Chief of Police did not want to sponsor it, I

asked my Ward Councilor 3 times for a Crime Watch program with

Federal Funding again him or the Chief of police have returned my

e-mails on this matter, I ask why?

But we as citizens should be at tonight meeting and ask to speak

about the Budget---I will be there ---See I have 2 questions which

none of them want to answer.

1st---does the City have to return the 750,000 dollars that they

received in a grant for the Fire Department, or have they spent it.

2nd ---why has not one city hall employee been laid off or had their

pay reduced, but 10+ firemen and 10+ police might get laid off?

      Who will be there tonight at 5 P.M.  Show your backbone;

So you have to be on an email list? I wonder why there isn't anything posted in the many public forums that are available to her such as MATV, the Observer, residential flyer drops, etc.  I think she'd have a better turnout and much more interest in her meetings if she actually included all the ward residents and not just some.  Ward councillors seem to know how to pass out information at election time but then they disappear.

I agree, the only reason I ended up on the mailing list is because I had to request it otherwise I would not know anything and would be in the dark like you. I have to say though since I have been on it I have been well informed. I agree she should use what resources are available to her in a better manner.

Maybe they are scared to post things because Frank will come

ThreeStooges88----If I come I will ask the hard questions which
seems that all councilors are afraid to answer. Ask her What the city
is doing on National Night OUT on August 3rd 2010, seems Malden is
the only city that has no plans.
But First ask her what happened at last night meeting on the
Budget? Than ask If the City has to return the 750,000.00 dollars
they received from the federal government.
Bet she will not answer  either question------if she does have her
post it on here. But than you will not ask her or post her answer!

WhatIsay&Threestooges88-----I am doing the resaerch on running for
Councilor but again the election is not till September 2011 (Primary)
Movember (Final) ----I have to decide on what my campaign will
be about, how to get the message out, when to file papers,
how much will it cost! I have friends who are helping me with this
      Process -----
Again ask your Ward Councilors what happen at last night meeting
& when does the city have return the Federal Grant Money.
If the Police and Fire Unions went to federal court and asked
for Injunction preventing the layoffs it would put the mayor in
      a Hard Place.
Question do you know How a federal Injunction works? I Do.

WhatDidIsay-----It nice to have that much power, maybe it is
because i speak the truth and the rest of you are afraid to ask
       your councilors the Hard Questions.
Politics is a hard place to be in----If your afraid to fight what
you think is right you keep making your point.
Growing up in Somerville taught me how to be straight to the
point---Everyone on here are afraid what the councilors can do to
you---If your speaking the truth don't be afraid to speak it.
Again--Go to www.CityofMalden.org ---go to Government look at
Councilors ---send them an e-mail and tell how you feel about
the Budget. But like I said yesterday no one will do it because
       your afraid of your councilors.

Have a backbone ask hard questions---Maybe the Congressman

is right ---people are afraid of the truth are you or are you one

     of the Myors cronies.

Still not one person is talking about the federal gRant that has to be returned ---750,000.00 dollars. if you have a problem lets meet or

     again--a voice with no name.

Again i ask who do you work for in city hall ---

when will the city councilors answer the questions that concern

     the citizens of malden.

I hope they are scare they should be--because the truth hurts:
Maybe you can answer the question do they return the Grant Money
or maybe they do not have it. It belongs to the federal government
which means it is my tax money.

farenella, you are the most dense person I have ever met. It is a given that the $750.000 has to be returned, everyone knows it except for you. I don't have to call or write my Councilor to ask about that. I met you once, I really don't care to repeat that experience.
If I were you I wouldn't even waste my money or energy on seeking office because if you campaign the way you write on this board, no one in their right mind would vote for you.
You want to know who I work for in City Hall? Maybe I run City Hall, you can never be sure who is behind a "fake" name......

Youdidmewrong;  First and foremost they do not have the Money to
Return;  Second I Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk-----Understand

this I care about the safety of the citizens of this city.

If I run it will be with professional help and help of other elected

officials but it is a process that I am following.

Again tell me where will they get the money and also fix up a park for

a Charter School ---but instead they want to layoff police and

     firemen --that makes real sense.
Oh about Somerville there Mayor does not walk out on meetings and
has an open door policy. There Aldermen/Alderwoman answer their
E-mails even from people living outside the city.
Even the Congressman office answers their E-Mails and letters why
does the malden Mayor & City Council do not answer theirs.
Even the Two U.S. Senators return e-mails and letters but not one
     Malden elected Official.

farenella, no kidding they don't have the money. That's why the Mayor is asking to cut $750.000 in PD/FD which comes out to about 10 jobs. It's all a game with the unions, he is trying to force them to accept a revised health care plan. If the unions do not agree then he made his point, cuts the jobs and pays back the money to the state. Do you think you are the only one that cares about this City? You might "Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk" but can you walk and chew gum at the same time? Grow up Frank, the Congressmen and Senators have standard Form Letters to send to people like you. Do you really think they take the time just to respond to Frank Arenella? As far as you running with help from professionals, that's all well and good but they won't be there in Chambers with you to give you advise...
