Local artists share their creativity this summer with kids, ages 3-10, at Artist in Residence Craft Workshops. Sessions hosted by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS program take place in local parks from Charlestown to Mattapan. Kids don’t have to bring materials, but they do have to be accompanied by an adult. July 7 from 9 a.m.-noon, weather permitting (Tues-Fri through Aug. 14). Free. Tuesday workshops are at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park in the North End, Hunt/Almont Playground in Mattapan, and Martin Playground Tot Lot in Dorchester. 617-635-4505. www.cityofboston.gov/parks

Because events can always be canceled or sold out, it’s best to call to confirm. Send event information two weeks in advance to jwulff@globe.com (please include event date in the subject line).
