Remember when mom kept a tube of slice-and-bake cookie dough in the fridge so you could bake up a batch whenever the mood struck? And you know how, as you got older, those cookies didn’t taste as good as they used to? Joanne Chang of Flour Bakery + Cafe has got you covered. She offers quart containers of refrigerated cookie dough ($14) so you can have cookies whenever you want, freshly baked from your own oven. Chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin is always available; call ahead to request peanut butter, double chocolate, ginger molasses, milk-chocolate hazelnut, and chunky lola (with pecans, chocolate chips, oats, and coconut). The dough will keep for about a week; roll it into balls for the freezer. These are definitely not your mother’s slice-and-bake cookies - but, kids, what’s not to love?
