The preschool years, in a book
My sister is the mom of a 2-year-old. For Christmas, she's asked me to find her ONE book that covers preschoolers from start to finish, everything she needs to know in ONE book. Can you save me hours of searching? I'm not a mom myself so I'm not exactly in a position to judge such a book. Does it even exist?

Dear Tina,
Yes. Ellen Galinsky's "The Preschool Years." It's been around for a while, but this book nails everything about the preschool years. Readers, what's your favorite?

I second "The Preschool Years" by Galinsky. I haven't read through the whole thing (do any parents of preschoolers have time to read it from cover to cover?), but i certainly look up sections and refer to them frequently. It is accessibly written and well researched and I haven't had any need for other preschool books since picking this one up.
