Wow. Thanks to everyone who took a moment to comment about the state's new toothbrushing-for-toddlers law. It was by far the most commented-upon entry we've ever had here at Moms Are Talking About.
We heard from parents, dentists, hygienists and child care providers, and the vast majority of folks seem to really and truly hate these new regulations from the Department of Early Education & Care.
Read some of the comments if you get the chance -- for many folks it's not really about the teeth. It's an objection to the government mandate, fear of a germ-spreading mess, and the already over-burdened day of the average toddler and childcare worker.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out as daycare providers get accustomed to the new rules, and parents make the choice to opt-out or stay in.
