Children aged 5-15 can participate in the fourth annual "Run & Ride" this Sunday in Cambridge. Hundreds of children who love to run and ride their bike will compete in this kids-only Cambridge duathlon taking place in and around CambridgeSide Galleria. A duathlon is an athletic event that consists of a running leg, followed by a cycling leg, and finally another running leg in a format bearing some resemblance to a traditional triathlon without the swimming. Although races will not be timed, this duathlon is a USAT sanctioned event, and all abilities are welcome. As a special treat this year, celebrity and host of the TV show "Extra," Mario Lopez will make a special appearance to get the young racers on their marks to ready, set, and go. The event features prizes, race T-shirts, giveaways, entertainment, and fun for the whole family. Pre-registration encouraged; walk-ins are welcome, but space is limited. Helmets are required and must be CPSC certified (check inside your helmet to confirm certification). Parents must present photo ID for admittance, and remain with their children for the whole event. Sun., June 23, 10 a.m. Free. CambridgeSide Galleria, 100 CambridgeSide Place, Cambridge. www.shopcambridgeside.com
