Former President George H.W. Bush, 89, went bald for a cause this week.

He shaved his head to support a 2-year-old boy named Patrick who is battling leukemia. Patrick's father Jon (last name withheld by request in a Dallas News report) is a member of Bush's security team.

George and Barbara Bush know what it's like to have a child battling leukemia. They lost their second child, Robin, to leukemia about 60 years ago. She was 4 years old.

Jim McGrath, Bush's spokesman, posted these photos to Twitter:

And Bush wasn't the only one who shaved his head!

The security detail launched the website, www.patrickspals.org, to help with expenses associated with Patrick’s treatment, reports the Associated Press.
