Dr. Hilary Levey Friedman lives in the Greater Boston area. She's a mom of one with another child on the way, a Harvard sociologist, and an expert on children in competitive sports and activities, as well as children in beauty pageants. Her new book, "Playing to Win: Raising Children in a Competitive Culture," is due out Aug. 26. She was online Tuesday, Aug. 6 to discuss kids in competitive sports and activities and raising kids in a competitive society.
