Our #FeaturedParentBlogger this week is Christa Terry, who you may know as co-founder of Mom Meet Mom, the mom meet-up site that's expanding nationwide. Terry, however, also blogs in her personal space at I Know How Is Babby Formed, and that's what she's talking about with us this week on Boston.com Moms.
That means Christa is joining us all this week in our Moms forums, taking questions, and telling us more about herself and her blog.
On Monday, she introduced herself. Here is a snippet from her introduction:
Anyway, I Know How Is Babby Formed has picked up a core readership of people (mostly moms) who keep coming back for more. You better believe I am honored and amazed every day by that. And inspired. Meeting so many amazing moms online and then connecting with some of them offline really made me understand how important mom friends are, so I got together with two other mothers and we created Mom Meet Mom. It's a place where all moms can go to find amazing local mom friends, playdates, and support from other moms who just get it. Check it out – we're pretty proud of it.
Tuesday, she shared 20 facts about herself. Here are a few.
I think more grownups should try new things. When I talk about going to dance class or taking pottery or working on my memoir or DIYing some nutty project around the house, invariably I get someone going "I wish I could do that." And I always say, "Well, why don't you?" In this game called life, beginners are welcome!
I love classic Star Trek and ST:tng. I have seen every episode of both series multiple times. The mister and I spent the day after my water broke before I had Bo watching the original movies. And I took Bo to his first convention when he was just seven months old. You would not believe how the cast members open up when you're carrying a cute baby! I even got to hug George Takei while babywearing – how cool is that?
On Wednesday, Christa shared her favorite post of all time. It's on a topic that may surprise you. Here's just a small part of her post:
Miscarriage is still a semi-taboo subject in our society – and there's no clear way in our culture to grieve the loss of a pregnancy – so too many women are still hesitant to talk about the pain they feel after miscarrying.
On Thursday, she took questions from readers.
And on Friday she shared her favorite blogs.
