Whether you have furry friends of your own at home, or are just looking for a way to support the MSCPA's efforts to protect animals, you can join over 2,000 like-minded people (and their pets) at this year's MSPCA-Angell Walk for Animals. Taking place concurrently in Boston, Centerville and Methuen, this year's walk is bigger and better than ever. Popular Boston disc jockey Henry Santoro, of RadioBDC, will once again emcee the Boston walk. He will be joined by Carlos Arredondo, of Roslindale, who is hailed as a hero for his quick actions following the Boston Marathon bombings. In addition to the actual walk, each event will feature food, activities, and fun for humans and animals of all ages, including agility courses, canine sports, and a hot dog eating race. Activities vary with location. This year, the MSPCA hopes to raise $350,000 to fund its three adoption centers, law enforcement, advocacy, and veterinary services programs. Registration and additional information can be found on the website. Each walk is approximately one mile. Sun., Sept. 8. Registration begins at 11 a.m.; walk begins at noon. http://support.mspca.org/site/PageNavigator/WalkForAnimals/WalkforAnimalsHomepage.html
