Dr. Lyle J. Micheli is the director of the division of sports medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. He is the attending physician for the Boston Ballet and the author of more than 300 scientific articles related to sports injuries, particularly in children. He is a recipient of the prestigious Robert E. Leach Mr. Sports Medicine award for making significant contributions to the world of sports medicine.


Dr. Hilary Levey Friedman is a mom of one with another child on the way, a Harvard sociologist, and an expert on children in competitive sports and activities, as well as children in beauty pageants. Her book, "Playing to Win: Raising Children in a Competitive Culture," was released last month.

Dr. Micheli and Dr. Levey Friedman are co-authors on a study published in the Boston Globe Magazine September 5, "Children's sports injuries: Where it hurts."
