paquette_GHOST.jpgHalloween may be over, but you can still have a little spooky fun at the Belmont Public Library. Meet author and literary agent Ammi-Joan Paquette, who will read her two newest picture books, "Ghost in the House" and "Petey and Pru and the Hullabaloo." The first is a counting story, told in rhyme and featuring a little ghost who goes exploring through a haunted house. One by one, other not-so-creepy creatures join him -- but you'll never guess who's the scariest in the house. In the second book, Petey is enjoying a peaceful afternoon of gardening when his good friend Pru starts to cause trouble. Petey reacts in turn, and before long, things have escalated from a scuffle to a tussle to a true hullabaloo. During this event, the author will read both stories, and talk about how she gets her ideas and writes her books. Copies of both titles will be available for purchasing and signing. Sat., Nov. 2, 3 p.m. Free. Belmont Public Library, Jane Gray Dustan Children's Room, 336 Concord Ave, Belmont. www.belmont.lib.ma.us
