Twice a year, Family Day at Massachusetts College of Art and Design brings together visitors of all ages to explore exhibitions in a fun, creative way. Held in the Baker and Pine Galleries, Family Day offers hands-on art and craft projects and special activities that allow children to experience the creative process. The activity stations, which are designed and facilitated by MassArt students, are structured around ongoing gallery exhibitions that offer unique opportunities for conversation and learning. Featured exhibitions are Reality Check, including seven photographers whose surprising real-life photographs strike the viewer as digitally altered, and Selections, featuring the artworks of 14 MassArt faculty members who are newly hired or returning from sabbatical. Materials are provided, so attendees are encouraged to drop in at any time to enjoy art-making projects, guided conversations, interactive activities, and refreshments. Visitors of all ages are welcome, but activities are best suited for ages 4 and up. Sat., Oct. 26, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Free. All ages. Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Baker and Pine Galleries, South Building, 621 Huntington Ave., Boston. www.massart.edu
