Sharon Reilly used to work for the CIA. These days she's a stay-at-home mom to three kids, ages 3, 5, and 7, and chronicles her journey on the blog "ViolaCay."
"Viola is my paternal grandmother's name and Cay is my maternal grandmother's name," writes Sharon in her introduction post for us as part of our Featured Parent Blogger series. "I feel like I'm a combination of the two of them in many ways."
Sharon is the mother of a child with a nut allergy.
"This thing. This food allergy thing, is NOT for the faint of heart," she writes on her blog."There are lots of things about parenting that terrify me, but this allergy thing toys with the darkest parts of my brain on a daily basis." (Photo: Kerry Goodwin Photography)
And that's why she shared a post called "I could've killed my boy today" with our readers this week. She said she does not like to re-read it, but is glad it connected with so many food allergy moms who share her battle.
"We've all messed up. We all have to move on," she writes in her post for us about her favorite blog post.
Sharon also shared 20 facts about herself with our readers. Here are some highlights:
I hate gum. Hate chewing it, but I especially hate watching and listening to other people chew it. Gross.
I watch singing competitions on TV like it's my job. It's because I am one of those people that secretly thinks they can sing, and really can't. No, I know I can't. I just reaaaaaaaally want to be able to sing.
I used to work for the CIA.
