USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild

The USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild and the USS Constitution Museum present the "Best of the Best -- 2014 Ship Model Show" at the USS Constitution Museum starting in February. Prize winning models from the past 10 annual shows will be featured. With over 100 handcrafted models of all sizes, types, and materials, you can explore the intricate art of model making as practiced today. Explore the show through a scavenger hunt or join in the fun of a hands-on activity. Members of the Model Guild will be on hand (hours to be determined) to answer questions about the models on display and share tips and techniques of the trade, all while working on models of their own. Come with questions and curiosity and meet a modeler -- it’s a great way to learn more. Watch professional ship model conservator Rob Napier clean and restore a late 19th century model of USS Constitution from the Museum's collection that was built by one of her crew members (hours to be determined). The Museum organizes a variety of family-oriented programs during the course of the show, so check the website often for updated information. Show begins Feb. 1, and runs daily, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is by donation. Groups over 10 should call ahead as there is a group fee.
