Keep your in-laws in line. Whatever your religious preferences, make sure to communicate with your parents and in-laws. If you would prefer not to have your children receive some holiday gifts, tactfully explain that to the grandparents. Because Hanukkah is not a fixed date on the calendar, many non-Jewish relatives often appreciate a reminder of when the holidays fall.
