Larz Anderson ParkIntersection of Newtown St. and Lee Street, Brookline
Why you like it:"We live in Newton, but we go to Larz Anderson in Brookline for a day in the park. It's a great place to fly kites and throw Frisbees. It's also our preferred destination on hot, sunny days as the playground equipment is well shaded by big old trees. It's even a great park in the winter, as the hills are perfect for sledding." — TheresaRenee
What you'll find there: Bring some burgers and buns to Larz Anderson. In addition to its playground and two baseball diamonds, it's the only town park where you can use a grill, says Jody Morreali, of Brookline's Parks & Recreation Department. There are six of them to be exact and 12 separate picnic sites which can accommodate eight adults each. Just make sure to call ahead (617-730-2069) to reserve a spot.
