2. Look for federal loans
Take advantage of low-interest federal student loans, especially the Stafford Loan. Stafford is not based on credit, and any student who completes the FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is eligible. If you haven't yet filed the FAFSA, it's not too late. Go to fafsa.gov to complete a free application.
