Want to conjure up some fun with your pets this Halloween? Hop on your broomstick and fly off to these parades. Humans aren't the only ones who can enjoy the All Hallows' Eve holiday celebration. All over the country, our four-legged friends are joining in on the spooky fun. From Massachusetts to California, these celebrations let pets express their love for Halloween. And many have contests and prizes, too. Some are only open to dogs, and some welcome different species, so find out before you go. Check out this list of pet parades and feel free to share fun ones near you in the comment section below.

And don't be a scaredy cat this holiday when it comes to making a costume for your pet. Read this list of DIY Halloween pet costumes for inspiration and find one that you -- and your pet -- will love. You never know, maybe you and your pet will win the prize for best duo.

The Canine Promenade

Boston, Massachusetts
Sunday, October 27th
Halloween celebrations in Boston wouldn't be complete without our own pet parade. Drop by the Esplanade to check out Bean Town's best dressed best friends in this half-mile walk along the Charles River. Rover can enjoy tasty treats provided by Pawsh, a local dog boutique, and you can check out a new walking route for him. Find out who'll take home the prize for the most wicked awesome costumes.

Bark Toberfest
Providence, Rhode Island
Saturday, October 27th
Time for Providence to get spook-tified. Join the Providence Animal Rescue League for a fall-fest of fun. Dogs can trick-or-treat around the community (time to teach Rover how to hold a basket). This is also an adoption event, so if you want a furry friend of your own, head down to see which pups are in need of a good home.

Howl-o-ween Party
Newtown, Connecticut
Saturday, October 27th
Searching for something fun to do with your pet in the Connecticut area? Look no farther than Newtown's Howl-o-ween Party. In addition to relay races and bobbing for hot dogs, your pooch can also compete in a costume contest. But if your pet is too cool to dress up, not to worry. He can show off his best trick or singing/howling to take home a prize.

Haute Dog Howl'oween Parade
Long Beach, California
Sunday, October 28th
Looking for a new canine companion? The Haute Dog organization (pronounced hot) combines an adoption event with a bona fide pet parade. With over 500 dogs expected to attend, it's the world's largest Halloween pet event. From dog owners and educators to rescuers and plain old animal lovers, people of all breeds show up. Awards are handed out for the Top 10, Director's Choices, Best Float, Best Costume, Best Human Costume and Best Group. There will even be a bulldog kissing booth and a presidential candidate look-alike contest for dogs.

Dogtoberfest for Handi-Dogs
Tucson, Arizona
Sunday, October 28th
Head over to this parade and celebration to benefit Handi-Dogs, a local nonprofit that helps train service and therapy dogs. That's a cause we can all get our tails behind. And the costume contest is only one of many activities available. Your dog can also enjoy paw painting, an obstacle course, photography sessions and lots of pet-friendly games.

Halloween Safe Street & Pet Parade
Denver, Colorado
Wednesday, October 31st
Start your Halloween trick-or-treating out on the right paw. A whole block of the popular shopping district of South Gaylord Street will be shut down to make way for kids, pets and their owners. Pets can parade in their festive costumes and compete in a contest. After that, kids can enjoy gathering treats from local stores and participate in a costume contest of their own. Don't forget to bust out your dancing shoes at the big dance.

Fredericksburg Dogtoberfest 2012
Fredericksburg, Texas
Saturday, October 27th
Deep in the heart of Texas, the Hill County SPCA sure knows how to throw a paw-ty. Show your appreciation for your furry friend by bringing them along to the Dogtoberfest. Like most Halloween events, there are pet costume contests, games and raffles, but this isn't your typical canine celebration. There are also Weiner Dog races, dog trick acts and a dog lure course.

Niche's Halloween Pet Parade
Geneva, Illinois
Saturday, October 27th
This pet costume contest will leave you feeling fur-icous. Held to benefit the Anderson Animal Shelter, the parade is attended by hundreds of pets from the Tri Cities area. Prizes will be awarded for Best Dog Costume, Best Duos (owners and the pets), Scariest, Sweetest and more. There will be raffles, treats and toys, too.

All-Breed Canine Oktoberfest
Hollywood, Florida
Sunday, October 28th
Come one, come all -- come on four legs -- to this 19th annual Oktoberfest. Enjoy doggie games, raffles and a costume contest. There's even a Doggie Fun Zone, which is an obstacle course complete with lures that your pooch is sure to enjoy. Proceeds will benefit local rescue groups.

Halloween Pet Parade
Easton, Ohio
Sunday, October 28th
Scaring people in the Buckeye State this Halloween? Your cat, dog, rabbit or bird can get in on the fun. The Capital Area Humane Society puts on a great parade and your pet can get pampered with prizes. Some of the awards: Most Creative, Scariest Costume, Most Humorous and Best Group. Know what else is frightening? 2012 will be the parade's 13th year.

Daisy's Delights' Pet Halloween Parade
Ridley Park, Pennsylvania
Sunday, October 28th
You might get spooked by some creepy canines (and some frightening felines), but don't worry -- their bark is worse than their bite. At Daisy's Delights' Pet Halloween Parade, you can get your paws on cool entertainment. Families will enjoy food, vendors, crafts and prizes. Want to get your face painted? Go ahead. And don't forget dress up your pets, too. Prizes are awarded for the best dogs and cats in disguise.

Woofside Halloween Pet Parade
Sunnyside/Woodside, New York
Saturday, October 27th
Bobbing for apples in the Big Apple? Bring Fido along and enter him in a parade. Sponsored by Woodside on the Move, this will be the Queens neighborhood's first pet parade. Sink your teeth into a number of additional raffles and treats -- for both Fido and you. There will be goody bags, access to dog trainers and workshops on animal nutrition. With the proceeds going to community programs and local dog runs, even cats will agree -- it's purr-fect.
